USC Center for the Political Future (CPF) hosted a virtual event, “To Recall or Not? Assessing the Campaign to Recall Gavin Newsom,” on Wednesday, September 1. CPF Co-Directors Bob Shrum and Mike Murphy were joined by USC Professor Jennifer Cryer, POLITICO's Carla Marinucci, Los Angeles Times' Seema Mehta, and political strategist Roger Salazar to discuss the recall election of California Governor Gavin Newsom. CPF Executive Director Kamy Akhavan shared how political polarization played a strong role in the recall election.
