Erika Maldonado Singh is the Assistant Dicrector at the Center for the Political Future, where she oversees the Center's robust event programming including panel discussions, seminars and conferences as well as the Unruh Institute's internship program.
Her knack for event planning and engaging conversations ensures that students and the community have platforms to discuss local, state and federal politics with experts from government, politics, policy and journalism. She works with student and outside organizations to produce events that foster civil dialogue.
In addition, she oversees planning and distribution for the USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times poll. She assists with coordinating initial planning of statewide public opinion polls that survey voter attitudes on a wide range of political, policy, social and cultural issues. As well as media communication and social media engagement.
As a journalist, she has worked to inform diverse audiences on social and political issues including LGBTQ+, education and public health. Before joining USC, Erika was a digital news clerk at KPCC for the daily public affairs program, AirTalk With Larry Mantle. Her work can be found in several LA County Patch news websites, KQED, KPCC and SF Weekly.
